Kudadoo Maldives Private Island is the world’s only solar-powered luxury resort. Since opening last December, this stunning island destination has already attracted high-profile travelers thanks to its elegant design and personalized service.

Yuji Yamazaki designed this resort’s 15 overwater residences using eco-friendly materials such as wood from sustainable forests in Canada, New Zealand and Indonesia. These luxurious residences extend out onto the ocean with large sliding doors to let in a gentle sea breeze.

Kudadoo Resort stands as an icon for sustainability and eco-conscious design in the Maldives, boasting the only fully solar powered luxury resort with 15 villas that line a coral-rich lagoon in an arc – each of which provides a quiet haven with carefully considered interior and exterior decor.

Over water residences feature floor-to-ceiling sliding window doors on opposite walls that offer natural ventilation, creating an oasis of privacy. Lattice-clad curved-roof dwellings add another level of tranquillity as their latticework adds character. Inside and outdoors bathrooms come equipped with freestanding tubs for ultimate relaxation.

Contemporary architecture was drawn upon Japanese traditional design for inspiration by master architect Yoji Yamazaki, with solar panels on its zigzagged roof providing enough power for all resort amenities (another first in Maldives).

Kudadoo features 15 overwater villas for exclusive rent on an exclusive basis, each ranging in size from one to two bedrooms. Each villa can be hired individually or together for larger parties, weddings or other events.

On this island, there are numerous recreational activities, from yoga and fitness classes to tennis court and games room with retro arcade machines such as air hockey, pinball and Pacman.

Constructed using natural materials sourced from sustainably managed forests in Canada, New Zealand and Indonesia; architect Yuji Yamazaki designed each to create an aesthetically pleasing space while remaining environmental-friendly.

At this resort, in addition to offering luxurious residences, there are also an array of amenities and services that enhance your experience – like having access to a personal butler who’s available 24-7 for any questions or requests during your stay.

As part of your experience at The Retreat, all guest experiences are housed within this main building located over water, including spa services, restaurant dining and wine cellar facilities as well as Maldives’ first Himalayan Salt Room at Kudadoo Wellness Retreat. There’s even a gym in The Retreat complete with personal trainers, yoga instructors and meditation gurus ready to help guests unwind!

Kudadoo provides its guests with the unique opportunity to visit other islands for activities like snorkeling and dolphin safaris, or arrange to go directly to Hurawalhi, its sister property five-minute boat ride away, for watersports like scuba diving and fishing.

Are you seeking the ultimate indulgence? Sulha Spa offers everything you need – a salt cave, steam rooms, saunas and nail bar are just a few ways they’re here to pamper themselves and others.

Be pampered like a king

Kudadoo Maldives Private Island offers an alternative approach to luxury hotel offerings: exceptional service, design and experiences while using minimal resources and treading lightly on the environment.

Kudadoo Resort is located on Lhaviyani Atoll and features the first fully solar-powered private island resort in the Maldives. Architect Yoshi Yamazaki took inspiration from Maldives’ natural beauty when designing Kudadoo, striving to minimize his ecological impact through such measures as using 250 million-year-old petrified wood furniture imported from Indonesia as well as installing solar panels throughout its grounds.

Each of the 15 villas provides an oasis of privacy, boasting lattice-clad, curved-roof dwellings. Rooms are decorated in dark wood furnishings and neutral textiles that evoke serenity. Amenities include smart TVs, Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth speakers, yoga mats, beach bags, rain jackets, drawing pencils and sketch pads along with The Healing Earth natural skin care and an indoor/outdoor bathroom complete with freestanding tub.

Make life easy when visiting an island: arrange for a personal butler to be available at your villa. They will contact you two weeks before arrival to gather details on any special occasions, dietary restrictions and desired spa treatments and activities – and when on island can arrange everything from massage appointments to giving out additional beach towels!

“The Retreat,” an elegant overwater structure housing the spa, features a Himalayan Salt Room and nail bar for guests’ convenience. Additionally, their wellness program integrates seamlessly into the other offerings at the resort; from meditation sessions with expert guides to fitness classes and custom water activities – to name but a few!

Make your stay truly luxurious by requesting a five-minute boat ride over to Kudadoo’s sister property, Hurawalhi Maldives. There you can take part in guided snorkeling excursions or book massage, facial or meal treatments at their five-room spa. Indulge in some recreational activities, like badminton, futsal and tennis at this adult-only retreat.

Be fully-inclusive

Kudadoo Maldives Private Island is the first top-end, fully inclusive luxury resort on Maldives’ Lhaviyani Atoll and was designed by award-winning Japanese architect Yuji Yamazaki – creating an eco-friendly luxury experience in an exclusive atmosphere.

The resort features only 15 overwater Ocean Residences, each boasting its own butler and 44-square-meter terrace pool. These secluded hideaways boast eco-conscious design elements such as wood from sustainably managed forests in Canada, New Zealand and Indonesia; large sliding doors open outward to let in cross breezes from tropical lagoon and feature their own sundeck for sunbathing and relaxation.

There’s plenty to keep you entertained at this resort, from snorkeling and personal training sessions to sustainability initiatives that run solely off solar energy.

Not just amenities: the resort goes above and beyond mere accommodation to offer thoughtful, personalized service to each of its guests. A personal butler is assigned to every guest who will reach out two weeks before arrival to assess special occasions, preferred minibar items, dietary requests as well as spa treatments or activities they’d like to experience during their stay.

Once in place, the butler will do everything from helping with daily routine to fulfilling small or big requests – from breakfast in bed and ordering dinner at your favorite restaurant to taking you on breathtaking dolphin sunset safaris!

As soon as you arrive in your villa, our staff will ensure it remains fresh and clean at all times. They will even give you a complimentary bottle of water, coffee/tea maker, mini bar and hair dryer.

If you find yourself feeling peckish, there are multiple restaurants on the island to satisfy your hunger needs – offering both kosher and halal food options for maximum variety!

Sulha Spa of this resort was honored with the World Luxury Spa Award in 2019. Here, guests can indulge in limitless spa experiences from massages and facials to yoga classes and holistic therapies. Alternatively, they can keep fit at their fitness center, which provides everything necessary for keeping up with an exercise regime.
